Join me for weekend breaks exploring the mountains just 30 minutes drive from Sulmona, Abruzzo's second city.

 

The medieval town of Sulmona plays host to weekend breaks spent exploring some of the regions Majella Park. And after a day out in the snow return to the comfort of the Hotel Ovidus, Sulmona's local 4 star hotel or Novelia's Penthouse, to relax and spend the evenings taking in the sites of Sulmona city. Here there are a variety of bars and restaurants or you can just stroll around the parks or piazza's.

 

Up on the mountains we can explore the wild plateau's, follow the trail of the hare or the deer not forgetting the possibility of wolf as well. Many of the mountain summits are also accessable by snowshoe allowing you to gaze over this fantastic landscape towards the appennine mountains and Corno Grande, the highest mountain in mid Italy.

 

Sulmona is around 3 hours by train from Rome (direct) and less if you are driving.

 

It is just under an hours drive from Pescara Airport on the Adriatic coast

Snowshoe weekend breaks include:

 

  • Full board accommodation at Hotel Rojan or
        self catering at Novelia's Penthouse
  • Guided day treks throughout weekend
  • Snowshoes, Poles and avalanche transceiver
  • Private transfers to venue each day
  • Airport/Rail station collection upon request
